Why is 5083 precision cast aluminum plate recommended for thick plate processing?
1. Uniformity performance. 5083 (5A83) is a non-heat-treated strengthened alloy. Its characteristics determine that uniformity is better than 6061T6. The thicker the 6061T6, the worse the hardenability. Its core hardness and strength will gradually weaken with the increase of thickness. However, the uniformity of 5083 (5A83) inside and outside is always consistent.
2. Low internal stress. 5083 (5A83) precision cast aluminum plate is made of large flat ingots of aluminum alloy, which are completely annealed at high temperature to remove stress and then sawn into plates. The internal stress can be reduced to the minimum. It is the product with the smallest deformation among the existing aluminum plates. There is no need for aging in mechanical processing, and it can be formed in one time.
3. High temperature resistance: When the temperature of 6061 exceeds 170"C, its strength and hardness decrease rapidly, and the original quenching strengthening structure is completely destroyed. After returning to room temperature, the performance does not recover. Since 5083 (5A83) is a non-heat-treated strengthened aluminum alloy, the performance decrease rate after heating is much slower, and after returning to room temperature, the strength and hardness can be restored to their original state.
